I'm not a very organized person most of the time.  I can let some things get in quite a horrid state, but some things I do pretty good at.  I decided that an organized approach would be good for restoration, so I started by making myself a plan for teardown.  I took one piece off at a time, and put all the associated nuts and bolts into ziploc bags and put a piece of white sign vinyl on the bag, and labeled each bag as to what was contained.  I then put all those bags in a crate.  This way, even though I might not reuse the bolts, at least I knew what size I needed to replace it with.
